TESTIMONIALS
At Hauraki Express we're fortunate enough to operate a pair Extreme 985s. Our first 985, Midnight Express, was put into survey in 2015, and we rated it so highly we commissioned another one, Midnight Rider, in 2017. Both matched with Volvo D6 330hp engines, they cruise very economically at 25knts burning 2 litres of diesel per nautical mile (and much less at trolling speed). The hulls are incredibly seaworthy, handling the short Hauraki Gulf chop and wind against tide situations with ease. We're also supremely confident taking them beyond the sight of land, and our boats have multiple trips to the remote Three Kings Islands under their belt. The flooding keel provides great stability - even with six excited charter fishing clients leaning over the gunwale to see a kingfish rising from the depths. These boats really do it all - be it a cruising trip with the family and the BBQ, or a hard-core overnight fishing adventure with mates.

With the severe weather warning for the east coast, here are a couple of simple tips to minimise damage to your boat during bad weather
1. Remove the bungs to avoid flooding and allows water to drain away quickly
2. If you have an all over cover on your boat, make sure it's taut to avoid water pooling
3. Biminis need to be secured especially in high wind
4. Windows and roof hatches should be closed and locked, if possible
5. Avoid Loose Items: Remove or tightly secure gear, electronics, and accessories
While it might seem obvious, these small things can make a real difference to your post storm clean up! ... See MoreSee Less
